India women’s football camps begin October

Preparatory Camps to Begin in October Ahead of AFC Women’s Asian Cup, IWL Clash Avoided: Coach Chettri
Bengaluru, Sep 19: The Indian women’s football team will begin monthly preparatory camps from October ahead of next year’s AFC Women’s Asian Cup, with measures taken to ensure they do not clash with the Indian Women’s League (IWL) schedule, said head coach Crispin Chettri on Friday.
Both the senior and U20 Indian women’s teams had secured qualification for their respective continental tournaments earlier this year, in July and August.
“We have already discussed plans with our players, club coaches, and the federation. We’ll be hosting camps, with a longer camp from January ahead of the main tournament,” Chettri said during a press conference organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) in Bengaluru.
Officials said the structured camp schedule is aimed at optimising player fitness, tactical preparation, and team cohesion while ensuring participation in the IWL remains unaffected.
