Indian mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy on Wednesday achieved the No.1 spot in ICC T20 International (T20I) Bowlers’ Rankings for the first time in his career, joining the elite company of fellow Indians Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi.

The ICC lauded Chakravarthy’s consistent performances in 2025, saying, “India spinner Varun Chakravarthy has been rewarded for his consistent form in 2025 by becoming the No.1 ranked bowler on the latest ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.”

Chakravarthy’s rise reflects his growing impact in the shortest format, with his variations and control making him a key weapon in India’s T20I bowling arsenal.

The 28-year-old spinner’s achievement marks a historic milestone, making him only the third Indian to reach the top of ICC’s T20I bowling chart.
