Odisha unveils semiconductor hub vision

Odisha poised to become India’s next semiconductor hub: CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar, Sept 3: Odisha has unveiled an ambitious vision to emerge as India’s next powerhouse in semiconductors and advanced electronics, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced at SEMICON India 2025 in New Delhi.

Majhi said Odisha signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹2,655 crore at the inauguration of the state’s pavilion. These include an MoU with TopTrack Hi-Tech PCB Pvt. Ltd. for an investment of ₹1,005 crore, and another with SancodeTech in collaboration with Silicon Connect, Inari Amertron Berhad and APIRC Penang, valued at ₹1,650 crore.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Odisha is also engaging with global technology leaders such as Intel, Micron, Western Digital, Renesas, and Siemens, marking a decisive step towards positioning the state as a preferred global hub for semiconductors and advanced electronics.

“With landmark projects under the India Semiconductor Mission, coupled with the Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing & Fabless Policy 2025 and the Electronics Component Manufacturing (ECM) Policy 2025, we are committed to building a world-class ecosystem for innovation, manufacturing and investment in semiconductors and electronics,” Majhi said.
