India to Become World’s Third-Largest Economy by 2027: Union Minister Sanjay Seth
Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, announced that India, having recently emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy, is poised to become the third-largest by 2027.
Speaking at a function organized by the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to mark its platinum jubilee celebrations, the minister hailed the country’s economic progress as a significant milestone for the nation’s 140 crore citizens.
“Today is a moment of immense pride for every Indian. We have surpassed Japan to become the fourth-largest economy, reaching the four trillion dollar mark,” Seth declared, highlighting the nation’s accelerating economic growth.
He emphasized that this achievement reflects India’s increasing influence on the global stage and is a testament to the hard work of its citizens and the strength of its economic policies.
Seth added that the government’s continued focus on infrastructure development, defence manufacturing, and entrepreneurship has played a pivotal role in driving economic expansion.
The minister’s remarks come at a time when India is attracting increased global investment and emerging as a key player in technology, manufacturing, and services. Economists also point to India’s demographic dividend, robust domestic consumption, and policy reforms as major factors contributing to its upward trajectory.
With projections indicating India will overtake Germany to become the third-largest economy by 2027, the country’s leadership has reiterated its commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth.
The event was attended by local industrialists, business leaders, and dignitaries who lauded the government’s efforts in fostering a business-friendly environment and supporting economic resilience.
