India Strikes Terror Camps in Operation Sindoor

India Launches ‘Operation Sindoor’, Conducts Precision Strikes on Terror Camps in Pakistan and PoK

In a decisive military response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting nine terrorist infrastructure sites located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The precision strikes were carried out early Wednesday morning, as confirmed by the Ministry of Defence.

The operation was aimed at locations believed to be the origin of terror plots against India, following the barbaric Pahalgam attack that claimed the lives of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national. The government described the action as a “focused, measured, and non-escalatory” mission, underscoring that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted during the strikes.

According to an official statement issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) at 1:44 AM IST, the strikes demonstrated India’s commitment to holding those responsible for the Pahalgam attack accountable. “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” the statement noted.

The Ministry also emphasized that ‘Operation Sindoor’ was conducted with high precision and operational discipline, with the intent of sending a strong message to terror groups and their handlers, while avoiding broader military escalation.

A detailed official briefing is expected later today, where more information about the targeted sites and operational outcomes may be disclosed.

This marks one of the most significant cross-border military operations by India since the 2019 Balakot airstrikes and underscores the Indian government’s renewed stance on responding to terrorism with swift and direct action.
