Footballers wear armbands to honor attack victims

Players Wear Black Armbands to Mourn Pahalgam Attack Victims

In a mark of respect and solidarity, players from Bengaluru FC and Inter Kashi wore black armbands and observed a minute of silence before their Super Cup match in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. The tribute was held to mourn the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed the lives of at least 26 people, mostly tourists, on April 22, 2025.

The terror attack, carried out at the Baisaran meadows in Pahalgam, was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow group linked to the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The attack has sparked widespread condemnation from national and international leaders alike.

The gesture by the football teams highlighted the collective mourning and solidarity with the victims and their families. Both teams and their supporters stood united in observing the solemn tribute before the match, which served as a poignant reminder of the ongoing fight against terrorism.
