BHEL Secures ₹7,500 Cr Order for 800 MW Unit at Ukai Plant in Gujarat

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has secured a ₹7,500 crore order to set up an 800 MW unit at the Ukai Supercritical Thermal Power Plant in Gujarat.

The order was placed by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd (GSECL) and marks a significant boost for BHEL’s role in India’s power sector.

According to the company, the new unit will be commissioned within 54 months and is expected to enhance Gujarat’s power generation capacity, contributing to the state’s growing energy needs.

BHEL, a leading public sector engineering and manufacturing firm, has been a key player in India’s thermal power infrastructure, supplying critical power equipment and executing large-scale projects.

This latest contract strengthens BHEL’s footprint in Gujarat and aligns with India’s focus on expanding its power generation capacity using advanced supercritical technology.
