PM Modi to Launch Major Projects on Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 100th Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to visit Madhya Pradesh on December 25 to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. During his visit, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several significant development projects in Khajuraho.
At around 12:30 PM, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of the Ken- Betwa River Linking National Project, the country’s first interlinking of rivers project under the national perspective plan. This ambitious project aims to provide irrigation, drinking water, and green energy to several districts in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, benefitting lakhs of farmer families. Additionally, the hydropower component of the project is expected to generate over 100 MW of green energy, creating numerous employment opportunities and boosting the rural economy.
The Prime Minister will also release a commemorative stamp and coin to mark the centennial birth anniversary of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Furthermore, he will lay the foundation stone for 1153 Atal Gram Sushasan buildings, which are designed to enhance the functioning of Gram Panchayats and promote good governance at the local level.
In a move towards promoting green energy, PM Modi will inaugurate the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project in Khandwa district, Madhya Pradesh. The project focuses on reducing carbon emissions and aiding in the Government’s mission of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070. Additionally, the floating solar project will help conserve water by minimizing evaporation.
These initiatives reflect the Prime Minister’s commitment to sustainable development, rural empowerment, and infrastructure growth, continuing the legacy of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
