135 Rescued from Flood-Hit Malkangiri in Odisha

In a major relief operation, around 135 people were rescued from various areas of Malkangiri district, which has been severely affected by recent flooding. The rescue efforts, which took place on Monday, led to the evacuation of these individuals to nearby relief camps.

Collector Sachin Pawar, who visited the affected areas, provided an update on the situation. He confirmed that the overall flood situation in Malkangiri has improved. Vehicular movement has resumed on the Pangam and Potteru bridges, which had been previously disrupted by the rising waters.

Despite this progress, some areas remain isolated. The Kangurukonda bridge continues to be submerged, leading to a disruption in connectivity between Malkangiri and Kalimela. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and working to restore full access to all affected regions.
