WFI revokes suspension of Aman, Neha

WFI Lifts Suspension on Aman Sehrawat and Neha Sangwan After First-Time Lapse

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on Friday revoked the suspensions of Olympic medallist Aman Sehrawat and junior wrestler Neha Sangwan, who had earlier been penalised for reporting overweight at key international events.

With the suspension lifted, both wrestlers are now eligible to participate in the upcoming Pro Wrestling League (PWL) auction, clearing the way for their return to competitive action.

Aman, who won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, was suspended after turning up overweight during the World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, in September. Neha faced similar action following her disqualification for being overweight at the Junior World Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria, in August.

WFI officials said the suspensions were lifted considering that the lapses occurred for the first time, but warned that repeat violations would invite stricter penalties.

The decision paves the way for both wrestlers to resume training and competition as they aim to regain form ahead of major upcoming events.
