Vice President inaugurates conference on Integral Humanism
C. P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday virtually inaugurated an international academic conference on ‘Ekatma Manav Darshan – Bharat’s Worldview’ at Karnataka State Open University.
The three-day conference, being held from March 25 to 27, is organised by the university in collaboration with Prajna Pravah and the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation.
Highlighting the significance of Ekatma Manav Darshan (Integral Humanism), the Vice President said the philosophy propounded by Deendayal Upadhyaya continues to remain relevant in contemporary times, even six decades after its articulation.
He noted that the philosophy emphasises harmony between the individual, society, nature and the universe, offering a path rooted in dharma, duty (kartavya) and values such as truth, compassion and service.
Stressing the need for holistic development, Radhakrishnan said true progress must nurture the body, mind, intellect and soul while maintaining ecological balance.
Referring to Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive growth, he said the goal of a developed India by 2047 rests on the principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” and the ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
In the context of rapid technological advancements, the Vice President underlined that technology must be guided by ethical wisdom and should serve human welfare, in line with the ideal of Loka-Sangraha.
He called for the practical application of Integral Humanism in policymaking and public life to build a balanced, inclusive and harmonious world, and extended his best wishes for the success of the conference.
