Teens Booked for Railway Track Reel

Two Boys Booked for Making Reels on Railway Tracks in Odisha

Two teenage boys from Odisha’s Bolangir district have been booked by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for dangerously filming a social media reel while lying on active railway tracks, officials confirmed on Monday.

The incident came to light after a video went viral on social media platforms showing one of the boys lying on concrete sleepers as a train approached. The stunt, captured between Purnapani and Jharmunda railway stations, triggered alarm among authorities and netizens alike.

Following a detailed investigation, the RPF identified the boys and filed a case against them under relevant sections of the Railway Act for endangering their own lives and potentially disrupting train operations.

“This kind of reckless behavior is extremely dangerous and strictly punishable. We urge all youngsters not to risk their lives for a few seconds of online fame,” an RPF official said.

Railway authorities have repeatedly warned the public against such risky acts near railway tracks, as they not only pose serious threats to life but also hamper the safety and punctuality of train services.

Further legal action is expected as the investigation continues.
