Salman Khan Announces ‘Battle Of Galwan’, Film on 2020 India-China Clash
Bollywood megastar Salman Khan has officially announced his next film, Battle Of Galwan, a powerful drama based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. The film will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia, best known for Shootout at Lokhandwala.
The 59-year-old actor shared the news on Instagram on Friday, unveiling a gripping 1.22-minute motion poster. In the clip, Khan appears in an intense, rugged avatar, set against a backdrop evoking the harsh terrain of the Himalayan border, hinting at the film’s raw patriotic tone.
Battle Of Galwan is set to chronicle the events surrounding the June 2020 face-off in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley, where Indian soldiers fought valiantly in one of the most serious military confrontations with China in decades. The incident, which claimed the lives of 20 Indian soldiers, stirred national emotion and made global headlines.
“This story is not just about conflict, it’s about courage, sacrifice, and the unbreakable spirit of our jawans,” Khan wrote in his post.
The film is expected to be a high-octane action drama laced with nationalistic fervor, portraying the resilience and heroism of the Indian Army. With Apoorva Lakhia at the helm and Salman Khan in the lead, the project is already generating buzz for its ambitious scale and emotionally charged theme.
Production details and the rest of the cast are yet to be announced. Battle Of Galwan is expected to go on floors later this year, with a possible release in 2026.
