Rohit Kumar Joins Odisha FC on a Two-Year Deal

Rohit Kumar has completed his move to Odisha FC, signing a two-year contract with the club. The midfielder, who becomes Odisha FC’s first summer acquisition, brings a wealth of experience to the team, having made over 80 appearances in the Indian Super League (ISL) and nine international caps for India.

A product of the DSK Shivajians academy, Rohit debuted for the Indian national team, the Blue Tigers, in a match against Kyrgyzstan. He replaced Thapa in the second half, contributing to India’s comfortable 2-0 victory. Rohit has also been part of successful campaigns, winning major honors with both club and country. His accolades include the Durand Cup with Bengaluru FC (BFC), the SAFF Championship, the Tri-Nation Series, and the Intercontinental Cup with India.

Expressing his excitement about joining Odisha FC, Rohit said, “I’m thrilled and excited to be a part of the project here at Odisha FC. My conversations with the coach have been very positive, and I’m looking forward to working under him and learning from him. I’ve watched his teams play for many years in the league and always wanted to challenge myself in this type of system. Teams coached by Sergio Lobera have always been difficult to play against, and I’m looking forward to seeing myself play this style of football.”

Odisha FC head coach Sergio Lobera shared his enthusiasm about the new signing: “Rohit is a player I have liked a lot for a long time. He fits perfectly into our style of play; he is good with the ball and without the ball, and he is very competitive.”

The club extends a warm welcome to Rohit Kumar and wishes him the best for his tenure with Odisha FC.
