Naveen Patnaik Expresses Satisfaction Over Odisha’s Industrial Growth During His Tenure
Former Odisha Chief Minister and opposition BJD president Naveen Patnaik expressed his satisfaction on Monday over the state’s industrial growth, noting that Odisha recorded the highest industrial growth rate in the country between 2015 and 2024 during his tenure.
Patnaik, who served as Chief Minister from 2000 to 2024, highlighted that the state’s growth was primarily driven by the manufacturing sector. He shared his thoughts on social media, stating, “Glad to share that #Odisha’s industrial gross state value added (GSVA) grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10% between FY2015-FY2024, highest among all states as per the report from @ICRALimited.”
The report from ICRA Limited showed that Odisha’s industrial growth outpaced all other states, making it a key player in the country’s industrial development over the past decade. Patnaik attributed the growth to strong policies and initiatives that fostered the manufacturing sector, positioning Odisha as a vital contributor to India’s overall industrial landscape.
Patnaik’s comments come amidst political discussions in the state, as his tenure as CM and the growth trajectory of Odisha remain central topics ahead of the upcoming elections.
