Trophy Unveiled for ITTF-ATTU Asian Table Tennis Championship in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: The countdown to the prestigious ITTF-ATTU 28th Asian Table Tennis Team Championships began on a high note with the grand unveiling of the championship trophy at Kalinga Stadium on Sunday. Odisha Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Suryabanshi Suraj unveiled the glittering trophy in a ceremony organized by the Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA).

The event, held at the Athletics Centre of Kalinga Stadium, showcased the state’s readiness to host its first-ever continental table tennis event. The magnificent trophy, representing the spirit of competition, unity, and excellence, was revealed amid applause from players, officials, and sports enthusiasts.

Following the unveiling, Minister Suraj flagged off a specially designed publicity vehicle adorned with lights, flowers, and a mini table tennis setup, featuring young paddlers rallying balls. The vehicle will travel across Bhubaneswar and nearby cities to promote the upcoming championship and build excitement among fans.

OSTTA officials informed that a trophy tour, featuring the event mascot ‘Olly’, will soon be conducted in key cities including Puri, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar to further engage the public and spread awareness about the tournament.

The ITTF-ATTU 28th Asian Table Tennis Team Championships, hosted by Odisha for the first time, will kick off on October 11 and conclude with the finals on October 15. The event will witness participation from top Asian teams, making it a landmark moment in Odisha’s growing legacy as India’s sports capital.
