Odisha to Recruit 300 Firefighters by December: CM Majhi
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday announced that 300 firefighter posts will be filled by the end of this year, as part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen disaster management and emergency response.
Speaking at the Passing Out Parade (PoP) of 911 firefighters, who successfully completed their training and joined the Odisha Fire Service, Majhi also unveiled several new initiatives to modernise the department.
The CM said the government is planning to establish a world-class simulator to provide advanced training to firefighters, along with a world-class scuba diving centre at Ramchandi beach near Konark.
Additionally, a national-level water efficiency and life-saving training centre will soon be set up at Ramchandi to enhance the state’s preparedness for handling water-related emergencies.
Majhi lauded the newly inducted firefighters for their dedication and urged them to serve people with courage and commitment, especially during natural disasters and emergencies, where Odisha often faces recurring challenges.
