Odisha to Fill Over 12,000 Vacancies in Home Department: CM Majhi
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Wednesday that the state government will soon initiate the process to fill over 12,000 vacant posts in the Home Department, a move aimed at strengthening the state’s law enforcement machinery.
Addressing the media, Majhi said the recruitment drive would enhance the department’s efficiency and ensure better public service delivery. “We are committed to bolstering the Home Department by addressing the long-standing vacancies. This will not only improve policing but also create significant employment opportunities,” he said.
In a major step toward modernizing law enforcement, the Chief Minister also revealed plans to establish 20 new cyber police stations across the state. These specialized units will deal with rising cybercrime cases and digital threats, reflecting the administration’s focus on tackling evolving security challenges.
The dual initiatives come as part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen internal security and provide citizens with faster, tech-enabled policing services.
