Odisha to Become Maoist-Free Ahead of National Target: CM Majhi

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday declared that the state is on track to become Maoist-free much ahead of the national deadline of March 2026.

Speaking during the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the governor’s address in the state assembly, Majhi credited the ‘double engine’ government for the progress made in combating Maoist activities in the region. He emphasized that the state has made significant strides in reducing Maoist influence and violence, with efforts to restore peace and development gaining momentum.

Majhi’s statement came as part of his broader speech, where he highlighted the achievements of the state government, particularly in the areas of security and infrastructure, under the current administration. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that with continued efforts and cooperation, Odisha would see the eradication of Maoist activities long before the national target date.
