Odisha DyCM Launches ‘Selfie with Mother’ Contest Ahead of Mother’s Day

In celebration of Mother’s Day, Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has launched an engaging ‘Selfie with Mother’ contest. The initiative, aimed at strengthening the bond between mothers and children, encourages people to share selfies with their mothers on social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter).

The contest, which began on Tuesday, invites participants to post their selfies along with an emotional message expressing their relationship with their mothers. To join, participants must include the hashtags #MoBou, #SelfiewithMother, #Mothersday, and #WCDOdisha in their posts. The contest will run until May 10, with entries accepted until 6 am.

Speaking about the contest, Parida, who heads the Women and Child Development Department, emphasized the importance of celebrating motherhood and expressing gratitude. “This contest provides an opportunity for people to showcase their love and appreciation for their mothers in a heartfelt way,” she said.

The top three contestants will be recognized for their creative and emotional submissions. The winners will be honored by the Women and Child Development Department on Mother’s Day, May 11.

This initiative is expected to encourage people to reflect on the significance of mothers in their lives, promoting a spirit of warmth and gratitude as the nation prepares to observe Mother’s Day.
