Noted Odisha Industrialist Sarat Kumar Sahoo Passes Away at 76

Prominent Odisha industrialist Sarat Kumar Sahoo, founder of Ruchi Foodline and a key figure in the state’s industrial growth, passed away at a hospital in Mumbai on Sunday, his family said. He was 76.

Sahoo is survived by a son and a daughter.

A respected name in Odisha’s business community, Sahoo was the Executive Chairman of the Odisha Assembly of Small and Medium Enterprises (OASME) and played a pivotal role in promoting entrepreneurship and industrial development in the state.

Under his leadership, Ruchi Foodline grew into one of Odisha’s most trusted food brands, expanding its footprint across India. His contributions to the MSME sector earned him widespread recognition for fostering innovation, job creation, and sustainable business practices.

Industry leaders and entrepreneurs across Odisha have mourned his demise, describing him as a visionary who dedicated his life to the growth of local industries. Tributes poured in from political leaders, trade bodies, and well-wishers remembering his humility and leadership.
