Odisha Govt Plans Restrained Anniversary Observance

Odisha Govt To Mark Two Years In Office With Restrained Celebrations Amid West Asia Crisis

Bhubaneswar, May 14: The Odisha government has decided to observe the completion of its two years in office in a simple and restrained manner in view of the prevailing crisis-like situation in the country arising out of recent developments in West Asia.

The decision was taken during a high-level preparatory meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday to review the plans for the government’s second anniversary celebrations.

Instead of holding grand events, the Chief Minister directed officials and ministers to focus on highlighting the achievements and welfare initiatives undertaken by the government over the past two years.

Stating that the government’s accomplishments belong to the people, Majhi stressed the need to ensure that citizens across Odisha are made aware of the developmental work and welfare measures implemented during the tenure.

As part of the outreach programme, the government’s achievements will be publicised extensively through print, electronic and social media platforms. Informational booklets and publicity materials will also be published to showcase various schemes and their impact on people’s lives.

The state government will officially observe its second anniversary on June 12, with programmes scheduled across the state and district levels from June 12 to June 21.

The celebrations will be organised around seven thematic pillars reflecting departmental achievements — Shakti Odisha, Samruddha Krushi Odisha, Sustha Odisha, Nirmana Odisha, Utkarsha Odisha, Janashakti Odisha, and Kaushal Odisha.

The programmes will also incorporate the government’s long-term development vision and roadmap for Odisha covering the period from 2026 to 2036.

Chief Minister Majhi directed all ministers to hold press conferences highlighting the achievements of their respective departments over the last two years. He also asked them to publish leaflets and booklets detailing departmental performance and the government’s vision for Odisha’s prosperity and public welfare.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Works and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabinarayan Naik, Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, the Chief Secretary, and senior officials from various departments.
