Odisha Govt Hikes Junior Teachers’ Remuneration by ₹5,000

In a significant move to support elementary school teachers, the Odisha government on Wednesday announced a ₹5,000 hike in the monthly remuneration of junior teachers working under the ‘Samagra Sikshya’ programme.

As per a resolution issued by the School and Mass Education Department, the monthly remuneration for junior teachers under various schemes has been increased from ₹11,000 to ₹16,000. The revised pay structure will be effective from the date of the resolution’s issuance.

The decision comes as part of the government’s efforts to improve the financial well-being of teachers and strengthen the elementary education system in the state. The move has been welcomed by the teaching community, who had been demanding a salary revision for a long time.

Officials stated that the government is committed to enhancing the working conditions of educators and ensuring better quality education for students. Further discussions on additional benefits and career growth opportunities for junior teachers are expected in the coming months.

With this salary revision, the Odisha government aims to boost morale among teachers and improve the overall educational environment in elementary schools across the state.
