Odisha Declares Half-Day Holiday in Bhubaneswar on June 12 for Swearing-In of New Government

Bhubaneswar, June 10, 2024 – The Odisha government has announced a half-day holiday for all state government offices and courts in Bhubaneswar on June 12, 2024, due to the swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister and council of ministers. This directive, issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, mandates the closure of offices and revenue and magisterial courts (executive) within the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) jurisdiction from 1 pm onwards.
The new BJP government will be sworn in on June 12 at 5 pm, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending the ceremony. The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar at 2:30 pm and will proceed to Raj Bhavan from the airport. He will then attend the oath-taking ceremony at Janata Maidan at 5 pm.
This half-day holiday is intended to facilitate smooth arrangements and participation in the significant event, marking the commencement of the new administration in Odisha.
