Odisha CM Expresses Grief Over Air India Ahmedabad–London Flight Tragedy
Bhubaneswar, June 12 : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday expressed profound grief over the tragic crash of the Air India Ahmedabad–London flight, which claimed several lives, including that of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
In a heartfelt post on X, Chief Minister Majhi extended his condolences and solidarity to those affected by the disaster. “My thoughts and prayers are with all the passengers, crew members, and their families during this difficult time,” he wrote.
The Chief Minister also invoked divine blessings for the victims, saying, “I earnestly pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for the safety and swift recovery of everyone affected.”
He further stated that the people of Odisha stand in solidarity with the state of Gujarat and everyone impacted by this devastating incident.
The crash, which occurred near Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon, involved Air India flight AI171 bound for London Gatwick, with 242 people on board. Rescue operations are underway, with casualty figures yet to be officially confirmed.
