Odisha Assembly Budget Session to Begin on February 13

The budget session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to commence on February 13 with an address by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati. The session will continue until April 5, featuring 29 working days, as per a notification issued by the Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday.

The session will include a recess from February 22 to March 6. Discussions on the motion of thanks for the Governor’s address are scheduled for February 14 and 15.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present the state budget for 2024-25 on February 17. The Appropriation Bill is slated to be tabled on March 29, as mentioned in the notification.

The upcoming session is expected to focus on various developmental initiatives and address key issues concerning the state’s economy and governance. This will be a crucial platform for deliberations as Odisha gears up for significant fiscal planning.
