Odisha approves policy for GCC hub

Odisha Approves New Policy to Position State as Global Capability Centre Hub

The Odisha government on Friday approved a landmark policy aimed at transforming the state into a major hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). The decision was taken during a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, where 12 proposals from nine departments were cleared.

The newly approved Odisha Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy 2025 offers a comprehensive range of incentives to attract multinational companies looking to set up centralised units for IT services, research and development, finance, and other key business operations.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja said the policy is designed to strengthen Odisha’s position as an emerging destination for global enterprises and boost high-quality job creation. GCCs—established by multinational companies to streamline essential business functions—are expected to bring advanced technology, skill development opportunities, and increased economic activity to the state.
