Guwahati Set for Historic Debut as India’s Newest Test Centre

Guwahati is poised to enter the elite league of India’s Test cricket venues as the city prepares to host its first-ever Test match on Saturday. India will face South Africa in the second and final Test of the series at the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Stadium, marking a landmark moment not only for Assam but for the entire Northeast.

Often called the ‘Gateway to the Northeast’, Guwahati has emerged as the region’s cricketing hub. Earlier this year, it also hosted ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup matches for the first time, showcasing its growing infrastructure and passion for the sport.
