Odia Film on Religious Conversion Released Amid Tight Security

Despite opposition from the Christian community, the Odia film Sanatani-Karma Hi Dharma was released across 30 cinema halls in Odisha on Friday under tight security arrangements.
The film, which delves into the issue of religious conversion, had sparked controversy ahead of its release. However, producer Bijay Kandoi confirmed that there were no protests and that the movie has received a positive response from audiences in various parts of the state.
Authorities had deployed security personnel at key locations to prevent any untoward incidents during the release. Meanwhile, the film’s makers have defended its content, stating that it aims to spark discussions on cultural and religious identity.
