NEET Controversy: Opposition Accuses Government, NTA of Jeopardizing Students’ Future

New Delhi: Opposition leaders have sharply criticized the government and the National Testing Agency (NTA) over alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the cancellation of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). They accuse the authorities of destroying the future of students.
During a heated session on Thursday, opposition leaders called for the immediate dismissal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the disbanding of the NTA. They labeled the alleged paper leaks as an “anti-national activity” that undermines the prospects of millions of students.
Leading the charge, Rahul Gandhi attributed the root cause of the paper leaks to the control of educational institutions by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideological parent, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Gandhi asserted that unless this influence is reversed, incidents of paper leaks will persist.
“The primary reason for these paper leaks is the BJP and RSS capturing educational institutions. This malpractice will continue unless the systemic issues are addressed,” said Gandhi.
Opposition leaders voiced their outrage and concern for students who are left in limbo due to these alleged irregularities. They stressed the importance of maintaining the integrity of competitive exams and ensuring a fair and transparent process for all candidates.
The controversy has stirred a significant debate about the accountability of the NTA and the Education Ministry. As accusations fly and calls for resignations mount, the government faces increasing pressure to address these concerns and restore confidence in the nation’s examination system.
The allegations come amid broader criticisms of the education system’s handling of high-stakes exams. Students and parents are demanding swift action to investigate the claims and implement measures to prevent future breaches.
