Mohan Charan Majhi Pays Floral Tributes to Odisha’s Icons Ahead of Swearing-In

Odisha’s Chief Minister designate, Mohan Charan Majhi, paid floral tributes to several of the state’s revered icons in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday morning, in an act of reverence and homage ahead of his swearing-in ceremony.

Majhi, accompanied by deputy Chief Minister designates KV Singh Deo and Prabhati Parida, commenced his day by honoring the memory of Utkala Mani Gopabandhu Das at Gopabandhu Square. The trio then proceeded to Raj Bhavan, where they paid their respects to Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das. The procession continued to Power House Square, where Sriram Chandra Bhanj Deo’s statue was adorned with flowers.

The tributes did not stop there, as the team made their way to AG Square to honor Parala Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati and Ramachandra Mardaraj Deo. This was followed by a visit to Vani Vihar Square, where the statue of Fakir Mohan Senapati was garlanded.

At Mayfair Square, the trio paid homage to Dharanidhar Bhuyan, and at Kalinga Hospital Square, they honored Gangadhar Meher. The final tribute of the morning was made at Maitri Vihar, where the statue of Birsa Munda was respectfully adorned with flowers.

This series of tributes highlights the incoming Chief Minister’s dedication to the legacy and contributions of Odisha’s historical figures, setting a tone of respect and reverence as he prepares to take on his new role in leading the state.
