PM Modi Hails India’s Record-Breaking Medal Haul at 25th Summer Deaflympics in Tokyo

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated India’s Deaflympians for their historic performance at the 25th Summer Deaflympics 2025 in Tokyo, where the contingent registered the country’s best-ever medal tally.

India secured 20 medals, including 9 gold, marking a remarkable milestone for the nation in Deaflympics history. The Prime Minister praised the athletes for their grit, determination and exceptional display of sporting excellence on the global stage.

In a post on X, PM Modi lauded every athlete, coach and support staff, emphasising that their relentless efforts had made the country proud. “With a historic best-ever medal tally of 20 medals including 9 Golds, our athletes have once again proven that determination and dedication can lead to outstanding results,” he wrote.

The Prime Minister said the achievements of the Indian contingent showcased the growing strength of India’s sporting ecosystem and the inspiring spirit of athletes who continue to bring glory to the nation.
