Manipal Academy of Higher Education Hosts 31st Convocation, Emphasizes Academic Excellence and National Education Policy 2020 Alignment

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), renowned for its academic prowess and research focus, celebrated its 31st Convocation on May 17, 2024, at the Dr TMA Pai International Convention Centre in Mangalore. The event marked a significant milestone as MAHE conferred degrees upon 1061 students, including 784 undergraduates, 160 postgraduates, and 117 PhD scholars.
Dr M K Ramesh, Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The convocation was also attended by esteemed dignitaries including Dr H S Ballal, Pro Chancellor of MAHE, Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor of MAHE, and other prominent figures from academia and governance.
Addressing the gathering, Dr M K Ramesh commended the graduating students for their dedication and emphasized MAHE’s role in providing quality education. He highlighted the importance of embracing challenges and upholding values in their professional journeys.
Dr H S Ballal, in his speech, underscored the broader purpose of education, urging graduates to nurture curiosity, innovation, and compassion in their pursuits beyond memorizing facts.
Reflecting on MAHE’s global impact, Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh spoke about the university’s commitment to international standards and collaborations, emphasizing its role in fostering a global academic network.
Dr Dilip G Naik, addressing the audience, expressed pride in the achievements of the graduating students and encouraged them to leverage their education to make a positive impact in society.
The convocation also highlighted MAHE’s alignment with the National Education Policy 2020, focusing on enhancing academic approaches to meet contemporary educational challenges and global standards.
Concluding the ceremony, Dr Unnikrishnan B, Dean of KMC Mangalore, extended gratitude to all participants and stakeholders for their contributions to the success of the event.
