Lakshya Sen and Malvika Bansod Exit First Round at Denmark Open
India’s Lakshya Sen faced a disappointing early exit at the Denmark Open Super 750 badminton tournament, losing in the opening round to China’s Lu Guang Zu. In a hard-fought battle that lasted 70 minutes, Sen, the 2021 World Championship bronze medallist, squandered an early advantage and ultimately fell short with a scoreline of 21-12, 19-21, 14-21.
The 22-year-old from Almora, who finished fourth at the Paris Olympics, struggled to maintain his momentum after winning the first game. This loss follows his recent performance at the Arctic Open in Finland, where he was eliminated in the second round just last week.
In addition to Sen’s exit, Malvika Bansod also faced an early departure from the tournament, marking a challenging day for Indian badminton at the prestigious event. Both players will be looking to regroup and focus on future competitions as they aim to improve their standings in the international circuit.
