Chennai Grandmasters: Keymer Draws with Vidit, Retains Lead

Germany’s Vincent Keymer maintained his lead in the Chennai Grandmasters Chess tournament despite being held to a second straight draw, this time by India’s Vidit Gujrathi in Round 5 on Monday.

The draw kept Keymer a point ahead of India’s Arjun Erigaisi, his closest rival, who also had to settle for a draw against compatriot Pranav V.

With the standings tightening, Keymer and Erigaisi are set to face each other in a high-stakes clash between the table toppers on Day 6, with the German starting with the white pieces.
