Ink Thrown at Odisha Congress Chief Sarat Pattnayak at Party Headquarters

In a startling incident, two unidentified individuals allegedly threw ink at Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Pattnayak at the party’s headquarters in Bhubaneswar. The incident occurred around 11:30 am when the two masked assailants entered Pattnayak’s chamber at the Congress Bhavan and splashed blue ink on his clothes, a senior party leader reported.

The attackers managed to flee the scene before security personnel could apprehend them. The motive behind the attack is currently under investigation. However, initial speculations suggest it could be politically motivated, as the Congress party has been experiencing a gradual resurgence in the state.

Following the incident, Pattnayak addressed the media, expressing his resolve and determination. “I am not frightened by the incident. Those who are jealous of the gradual growth of Congress in the state are behind the incident,” he stated.

Senior Congress leaders condemned the attack, calling it an act of cowardice. “This is a blatant attempt to intimidate and disrupt the Congress party’s progress in Odisha. We will not be deterred by such actions,” said a party spokesperson.

The Bhubaneswar police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. They are reviewing CCTV footage from the Congress Bhavan and nearby areas to gather leads.

This incident has sparked widespread outrage among Congress workers and supporters, who have demanded swift action against the culprits. Many have taken to social media to express their solidarity with Pattnayak and their condemnation of the attack.

As the investigation continues, the Congress party has vowed to remain undeterred in its efforts to strengthen its presence in Odisha. The incident underscores the heightened political tensions in the state as parties gear up for upcoming elections.

Further updates on the investigation and any potential developments will be closely monitored.
