Indian Medical Aspirants Prefer Philippines Education

The Philippines is emerging as a preferred destination for Indian medical aspirants due to affordable education, strong clinical exposure and disruptions caused by the Russia–Ukraine War, experts said.
According to overseas medical education consultants, many Indian students are increasingly opting for medical studies in the Philippines as it offers an English-medium curriculum, a US-pattern education system and comparatively lower tuition fees.
David Pillai, CEO and Founding Chairman of Transworld Educare, said the cost of medical education in the Philippines is significantly lower than in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.
He noted that tuition fees in Philippine medical colleges generally range between USD 3,000 and USD 6,000 per year, while the total cost of the programme, including living expenses, typically ranges from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 35 lakh.
Pillai said the country’s English-based instruction, global-standard curriculum and strong hands-on clinical training make it an attractive option for Indian students aspiring to pursue medical education abroad.
Experts also pointed out that the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which earlier hosted a large number of Indian medical students, has prompted many aspirants to explore alternative destinations, further boosting interest in the Philippines.
With its combination of affordability, quality training and internationally aligned curriculum, the Philippines is gradually establishing itself as a prominent hub for Indian students seeking global medical education.
