India-Australia Strategic Partnership Strengthens: EAM Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar emphasized the steady growth of the India-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership during his meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong. The two leaders convened in Canberra on Tuesday for the 15th India-Australia Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue, which covered a wide range of global and regional issues.

In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Jaishankar highlighted the key areas of collaboration, noting that the partnership is reflected in “stronger political ties, robust defence and security cooperation, expanded trade, greater mobility, and deeper educational linkages.”

The discussions between Jaishankar and Wong included an overview of developments in their respective regions, the strategic dynamics of the Indo-Pacific, and pressing global issues such as the situation in West Asia and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Both ministers reiterated their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing global challenges collaboratively.

The dialogue marks a continuation of the deepening ties between India and Australia, with both countries prioritizing strategic and economic partnerships to foster regional stability and prosperity. Further engagements and collaborative initiatives are expected in the coming months to build on the momentum of this growing partnership.
