Himachal cuts power tariff by one paisa

The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) has announced a reduction of one paisa per unit in electricity tariff for all categories of consumers in the state for the financial year 2026–27.

The revised rates will come into effect from April 1, 2026, following the issuance of the tariff order for Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL).

According to the order, the Commission has estimated the Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) of HPSEBL at Rs 8,636.16 crore for FY27, compared to Rs 8,403.25 crore for the previous financial year 2025–26, after accounting for adjustments from past periods.

The move is expected to provide marginal relief to consumers across domestic, commercial, and industrial categories in the hill state.
