Harmanpreet Singh Assesses India’s Hockey Performance Ahead of FIH Pro League in London

India men’s hockey captain Harmanpreet Singh has acknowledged the team’s mixed performance despite playing good hockey in patches. As they gear up for the FIH Pro League games in London, Singh emphasized the need to iron out inconsistencies ahead of the Paris Olympics.

Currently standing third in the Pro League table with 21 points from 12 matches, India faces crucial encounters against Germany and Great Britain, ranked sixth and ninth respectively. The London leg is pivotal for India’s preparation and ranking aspirations.

“We are playing good hockey but only in patches,” remarked Harmanpreet Singh, highlighting the team’s focus on consistency. India’s recent outing in Antwerp saw them clinch hard-fought victories against Argentina but also face defeats against the hosts, reflecting their variable form.

With eyes set on improving their standing and readiness for the Olympics, India aims to deliver more stable performances in London. The upcoming matches against strong European opponents will serve as crucial tests ahead of the ultimate challenge in Paris.
