NCC Should Prioritize National Security: Odisha Governor Kambhampati

Bhubaneswar: Emphasizing the pivotal role of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in shaping India’s future, Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal Kambhampati on Friday urged the organization to place greater focus on national security, youth development, and the use of digital tools.

Addressing a seminar titled “NCC: A Power Factor in Nation Building” in Bhubaneswar, the Governor highlighted the NCC’s transformative impact as a youth-driven movement fostering discipline, character building, and selfless service. He called on the organization to enhance its contributions not just in defense preparedness, but also in social and cultural spheres.

“NCC has emerged as an active force in youth mobilization. Its role in national security, inclusive development, and societal progress is vital. The involvement of tribal, rural, and urban youth, especially women, is commendable,” Kambhampati said.

The Governor praised NCC’s efforts in promoting women empowerment and engaging youth from diverse backgrounds, calling it a key driver of Odisha’s inclusive growth. He expressed hope that the seminar would help expand the NCC movement in the state and enhance its contribution to national development.

Senior NCC and Army officials, including Colonel Satyabrat Swain, Director of NCC Odisha, were present at the seminar, which focused on strengthening NCC’s role in national and community development.
