ECoR to Introduce Three Key Trains from Bhubaneswar New Station

Bhubaneswar : The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the introduction of three important trains that will now originate and terminate at Bhubaneswar New Station, enhancing rail connectivity for passengers in the northern parts of the city.

The three trains include the Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Konark Express, Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad Visakha Express, and Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam Intercity Express. The exact date of implementation for this change will be announced soon, according to ECoR sources.

The move aims to provide greater convenience to passengers from North Bhubaneswar and adjacent areas, reducing congestion at Bhubaneswar Main Station. Additionally, these trains will have a two-minute stoppage at Mancheswar Railway Station, further benefiting commuters.

Enhanced Travel Convenience for Students and Patients

ECoR officials highlighted that Bhubaneswar New Station will serve as a vital travel hub, especially for students studying in various engineering, medical, and other educational institutions in the northern part of the city. Additionally, passengers traveling for medical purposes will benefit from easier access, as several hospitals are located in the vicinity.

Major Redevelopment Plans Under Amrit Station Scheme

Bhubaneswar New Station is set to undergo significant redevelopment under the Amrit Station Scheme to improve passenger amenities and infrastructure. The planned upgrades include:

• Expansion and improvement of the circulating area
• Construction of an additional Foot Over Bridge (FOB)
• Modern waiting rooms and upgraded toilets
• Improved platform illumination
• Installation of Coach Watering Facilities
• Lifts on all platforms for enhanced accessibility
• Upgradation of the existing station building

These improvements aim to transform Bhubaneswar New Station into a major railway hub, ensuring a seamless and comfortable travel experience for residents, students, and travelers.
