Delhi Industries Minister Meets Factory Owners Over Development of 27 Industrial Areas

Delhi Industries Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj convened a meeting on Wednesday with representatives of factory owners’ associations from 27 industrial areas to deliberate on the government’s plans for their development and revamp. This move signifies a significant step towards transforming these unplanned industrial zones into well-maintained and efficiently functioning areas.
In an official statement, Minister Bharadwaj emphasized the Delhi Government’s commitment to the development and maintenance of these industrial areas. “The government is very serious about the development and maintenance of 27 unplanned industrial areas,” Bharadwaj stated, highlighting the administration’s long-term collaboration with trade organizations to improve these zones.
The minister unveiled a comprehensive scheme aimed at revamping the industrial areas. As per the scheme, the Delhi Government will cover 90% of the costs associated with the layout plans for the development of these industrial zones, while the remaining 10% will be funded by the factory owners. This financial structure is designed to ensure that the factory owners are actively involved in the development process, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility towards the revamped areas.
The scheme’s implementation is expected to bring about significant improvements in infrastructure, utility services, and overall industrial environment. Enhanced roads, better waste management systems, and upgraded utilities are among the anticipated outcomes of this development initiative.
Factory owners present at the meeting expressed their appreciation for the government’s proactive approach and assured their cooperation in the upcoming development activities. They also discussed various challenges faced by the existing unplanned industrial areas, including inadequate infrastructure and lack of essential services, and provided valuable inputs for the successful implementation of the scheme.
The Delhi Government’s initiative is poised to not only boost the operational efficiency of these industrial areas but also contribute to the overall economic growth of the region by attracting more businesses and generating employment opportunities. The revamp is expected to commence soon, with the government and factory owners working in tandem to ensure timely and effective execution of the development plans.
Minister Bharadwaj reiterated the government’s dedication to fostering a conducive industrial environment and assured the factory owners of continued support throughout the development process. “We are committed to transforming these industrial areas into well-planned and thriving zones, and your cooperation is crucial to achieving this goal,” he concluded.
