Cold wave hits Odisha, temperatures drop

Cold Wave Grips Odisha; Temperatures Drop Below 10°C in 13 Places
Odisha continues to experience severe cold wave conditions as minimum temperatures fell below 10 degrees Celsius in at least 13 locations across the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported on Monday. The cold has significantly affected daily life in these areas.
The IMD has issued a five-day warning, indicating that minimum temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the state until the New Year.
While most coastal areas recorded temperatures above 10°C, southern and western districts continue to face extreme cold conditions. Residents are advised to take precautions, especially the elderly and children, to cope with the harsh weather.
Authorities have urged people to avoid early morning and late-night outdoor activities and to ensure adequate heating and warm clothing to mitigate the impact of the cold wave.
