Fog disrupts Delhi airport operations

Dense Fog Disrupts Delhi Airport Operations; 118 Flights Cancelled

Dense fog caused major disruptions at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Tuesday, leading to the cancellation of 118 flights, diversion of 16 flights, and delays in 130 services.

According to airport officials, 60 arrivals and 58 departures were cancelled due to low visibility, affecting both domestic and international operations. The airport, managed by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), typically handles around 1,300 flights daily, highlighting the scale of the disruption.

Passengers were advised to check flight statuses and make alternate arrangements. Airport authorities are working to resume normal operations as visibility improves.

The persistent fog has affected air travel across northern India, with several airports experiencing delays and cancellations in the past few days due to winter weather conditions.
