BJD Bandh Disrupts Life in Raighar

Normal Life Hit in Raighar Block Amid BJD’s 12-Hour Bandh
Normal life came to a standstill in Raighar block of Nabarangpur district on Monday following a 12-hour bandh called by the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) to protest the death of a nursing student after alleged harassment.
The shutdown, which began at 6 am and continued till 6 pm, saw shops, markets, and transport services remain closed. However, emergency services operated without disruption.
BJD workers and leaders, carrying party flags and banners, staged road blockades at several locations, including Hanuman Mandir Square in Raighar, bringing vehicular movement to a halt in parts of the area.
The party has demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and strict action against those responsible.
