Biplab Kumar Deb Wins Tripura West Lok Sabha Seat by Over 6 Lakh Votes

In a resounding victory, former Tripura Chief Minister and BJP candidate Biplab Kumar Deb secured the Tripura West Lok Sabha seat on Tuesday, defeating his nearest competitor, Asish Kumar Saha of the Congress, by an overwhelming margin of over six lakh votes.
Deb, who is currently a Rajya Sabha MP, garnered a total of 8,81,341 votes, while Saha managed to secure 2,69,763 votes. This decisive win underscores Deb’s significant political influence and the BJP’s strong foothold in the region.
The election also saw BJP’s Kriti Devi Debbarman, sister of Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Debbarma, winning the Tripura East parliamentary seat, further consolidating the party’s dominance in the state.
Biplab Kumar Deb’s victory is seen as a testament to his enduring popularity and effective leadership during his tenure as Chief Minister. His win is expected to boost the BJP’s prospects and morale in Tripura, reinforcing their position in the state’s political landscape.
