ATV Boosts Puri Beach Rescue Operations

Lifeguards in Puri Get All-Terrain Vehicle to Strengthen Sea Rescue Operations

Puri, Nov 1 : In a significant step towards enhancing beach safety, lifeguards deployed along Puri Beach received an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to aid in sea rescue operations. The initiative, jointly undertaken by Puri Municipality and the Tourism Department, aims to ensure quicker response times during emergencies and improve overall coastal safety for tourists.

The ATV was formally handed over during a special ceremony held on Puri Beach, attended by hundreds of lifeguards. District Fire Officer Pravat Kumar Rout and Tourism Officer Saroj Pradhan jointly presented the vehicle.

Designed to move swiftly across sandy terrains, the ATV will enable lifeguards to patrol the expansive coastline more efficiently, respond faster to drowning incidents, and transport rescued individuals for immediate medical assistance.

“The ATV will serve as a critical addition to our beach safety infrastructure. More such advanced equipment will be introduced soon to further enhance the lifeguard team’s capabilities,” said Fire Officer Rout.

The newly inducted vehicle will remain stationed at the beach outpost for rapid deployment, ensuring that rescue teams can act without delay during emergencies.
