The Boys Sports Company (BSC) at Bombay Engineer Group & Centre (BEG), Khadki, Pune is set to conduct an Open Selection Rally from June 24 to June 27, 2024. This initiative aims to induct young sportsmen into the BSC based on their sports achievements in Gymnastics, Basketball, and Rowing disciplines.

Candidates aged between 8 to 14 years (born between June 24, 2010, and June 24, 2016) are eligible to participate. They must meet specific height and weight criteria depending on their age at entry level, ranging from 134 cm and 29 kg for 8-year-olds to 160 cm and 47 kg for 14-year-olds. Additionally, candidates should be minimum Class 4th standard pass with proficiency in English and Hindi.

During the selection process, candidates will need to present their original birth certificate, education certificates, sports participation certificates (district level and above), Aadhar card, and other necessary documents. They are also required to carry their personal sports kit for the trials.

While boarding, lodging, and transportation arrangements are to be managed by parents or guardians, medical aid will be available on-site during the selection trials. The selection process will span over four days and will prioritize candidates who have won medals at district, state, national, or international levels due to limited vacancies.

Successful candidates will receive benefits including free education up to Xth standard, boarding, lodging, sports kit, and coaching in their respective sports discipline. They may also be considered for enrollment in the Army contingent upon meeting all required standards.

For those selected, final approvals by the Sports Authority of India and Army Headquarters will be sought, with the final joining details to be communicated subsequently. Candidates are reminded that any misinformation or lack of progress in their discipline may lead to their disqualification, with parents or guardians required to sign an undertaking to this effect.
