Indian Women’s Team star, Manisha Kalyan, took center stage in New Delhi on June 13, 2024, advocating for greater participation of young girls in football. Partnering with United Nations India, the Embassies of Belgium and the Netherlands, and the All India Football Federation, Manisha participated in an exhibition match aimed at promoting Women in Football.

The event, titled ‘Women in Sports: Breaking Barriers’, drew a significant audience and featured dignitaries including Ambassadors and sports personalities like international archer Jayalakshmi Sarikonda and boxer Gaurav Bidhuri.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Manisha emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “It is crucial to organize such events regularly. They provide a platform for young players to showcase their skills and gain recognition.”

Addressing aspiring footballers, Manisha stressed the value of hard work and consistency, advising, “There is no alternative to hard work. If you are passionate about the game, stay committed and consistent in your efforts.”
